When to call us

If you're asking "is this an emergency?" — call.

We would always rather be called and stood down than reached too late. These are the situations where every minute counts:

Breathing difficulty

Choking, collapse, blue gums or laboured breathing.

Collapse or seizure

Sudden weakness, fitting, or loss of consciousness.

Trauma or a fall

Road accidents, fights, suspected fractures or bleeding.

Heatstroke

Overheating, heavy panting, distress in hot weather.

Bloat or severe pain

Swollen abdomen, retching, crying — minutes matter.

Poisoning

Chocolate, grapes, antifreeze, human medication.

Not sure? Call anyway. We'll help you judge how urgent it is and what to do right now — that conversation is always free.

The emergency process

What happens when you call.

No script, no hold music — a calm voice and a van on the move.

  1. 1

    Call the emergency line

Tell us what's happening and your address. We stay on the phone and talk you through anything urgent while we move.

  2. 2

    We're rolling within minutes

The van is kept stocked and ready 24/7. We take the fastest safe route and keep you updated on arrival time.

  3. 3

We contact your vet en route

We ring ahead so the clinic is prepped, you skip the front desk, and your pet goes straight into care.

  4. 4

    Calm, safe transport

Soft handling, padded carrier, fresh blankets, climate-controlled bay. Low stress in, straight to care out.

Inside the ambulance

Equipped for the worst day

Our van isn't a converted parcel van with a blanket in the back. It's set up so a frightened, injured or sedated animal travels as safely and calmly as possible.

  • Pet-specific first-aid kit & oxygen-compatible carrier
  • Soft padded stretcher and memory-foam mats
  • Non-slip restraint to keep injured pets stable on the move
  • Spare blankets, towels and bottled water
  • Fully climate-controlled bay (essential for shock & heatstroke)
  • Trained, DBS-checked handler on every single call-out

We talk to your vet, so you don't have to.

While we're on the way, we call ahead to your vet — or the nearest emergency clinic out of hours — with everything they need: what's happened, your pet's condition, and your arrival time. You walk straight in. No queue, no re-explaining, no lost minutes at the front desk.

We know the local out-of-hours clinics.

Trained handling, not panic.

Stressed pets respond to stressed handlers. Our team is trained to keep voice, breathing and movement low and steady — and to read whether your pet needs space or contact. In an emergency, a calm pair of hands makes a measurable difference by the time you reach the vet.

Emergency FAQ

The questions people ask at 2am.

  • Stay on the line — we'll guide you. Keep your pet warm, quiet and as still as possible, clear a path to the door, and have a lead or carrier ready if it's safe. Don't give food, water or any medication unless a vet tells you to.

  • We're a specialist emergency transport service, not a clinic. We don't diagnose or treat — we get your pet to professional veterinary care fast, safely and calmly, and we coordinate with the vet so they're ready for you. Think of us as the ambulance, not the hospital.

  • Your own vet if they're open and able to see you. Out of hours, we'll take you to the nearest emergency vet — we know the local out-of-hours clinics and call ahead so they're expecting you.

  • We give you a clear price on the call — there's no surge pricing and no hidden fees. In a genuine emergency we move first and sort the details with you; we'll never leave a pet waiting over money.

  • Yes. The emergency line is staffed 24/7, including nights, weekends and bank holidays. Emergencies don't keep office hours and neither do we.

  • Still call. If we can't reach you fast enough we'll help you find the quickest option and talk you through what to do in the meantime — we won't just hang up.

Don't wait — call us.

Every minute matters. We'd rather be called and not needed than the other way round.
